Meet Virginia Holm, LCSW
I am accepting new clients in person and teletherapy where social distancing is necessary or other limitations are indicated.
My 26 years as a psychotherapist provides me with the training and experience to work effectively with individuals, families, adolescents, and elder adults; and enables me to offer valuable tools needed to promote emotional healing and well-being. I have a holistic approach to mental health care and am associated with a cooperative of women healers who offer their expertise and counseling in nutrition, cranial therapy, toxicity evaluations, spinal screenings, spirituality, yoga, and creative writing.
With elder adults suffering from mild anxiety, I provide screening and assessment for dementia and Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Mild Dementia (CBT-AD) to promote cognitive restricting, behavioral activation, and memory aids.
I try to inject the creative process into my work as a psychotherapist. The creative process is compatible with psychotherapy. It helps us to better understand our emotional inner life and connect with those issues we sometimes have trouble putting into words.
I obtained my Master’s Degree from the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences as well as a Master’s Degree from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. I obtained a Master’s degree in Art History from Case Western Reserve and a Bachelor’s Degree from Tulane University. I’m an independent licensed clinical social worker in Georgia, certificated in Cognitive Behavior Therapy from The Cleveland Institute of Cognitive Behavior Therapy and trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) for the treatment of trauma and traumatic grief and loss.
I have experience as an expert witness and have provided assessments and testimony for Immigration and Naturalization Services for the determination of benefits since 2001.
I am a member of the National Council of Social Work (NASW) and EMDRIA (International Association for EMDR).,
